Overtime pay is not logical
If people want to work more hours in a day, they can do several things; work more hours at their first job, get another job or two that generally will pay less than the first, or start their own business.
Typically, second jobs pay less than the first, of that other job would be the first job.
Working more hours at the same job should not be required to pay more money per hour for a couple good reasons. The worker does not have to drive to another job, thus saving time and money to work the extra hours. The worker generally works other jobs at less pay than their full-time job, so working extra hours is a bonus to other jobs.
The only reason the business might pay overtime is to encourage already trained workers to seek wage increases. Because if the business can afford to pay more money for the same labor, why not simply just increase the worker's wages to begin with?
Government mandated wages and overtime pay is simply another form of wealth-distribution that is not a lawful act of government.
The only authorized wage control the government possesses has to deal with the uniform laws of immigration and naturalization. If the government allows too many foreign workers into our country, it drives the value of the existing labor-pool down because there are more people who are willing to work for less money.
When the government keeps the volume of foreign workers to an absolute minimum, the value of domestic labor goes up as the numbers of workers to fill those jobs decreases.
Thus, illegal immigration #amnesty destroys domestic labor value.
