Time for Action !!
These posts result from what I read in a variety of "news" media, conversations, etc.
Do we have problems at our #borders or with our government officers?
Catch and release is a reward-the-crime act by government.
Imagine a person successfully enters these united States of America illegally. Works and sends lots of money back home. Then, when they get ready for their vacations back home with their family, they find a way to get arrested and deported for free.
When they need more money, they come back into these united States of America (probably the same way as before) for a repeat performance.
We have the perfect (at least near-perfect) solution, not just for illegal immigration, but for all crime. It is called The Constitution for the United States of America, Amendment 13.
Amendment 13 demands honest government officials to implement it properly. When done properly, it punishes all criminal activity far more severely than the rewards from the crime. Let's discuss illegal immigration and you can apply this to all other crime in like manner.
Our laws allow for the punishment of first-time offenders (illegal immigrants) with 6 months jail and 2 years for the second offense. Amendment 13 requires slave-type labor and involuntary servitude but solely for punishing criminal activity for which the person was duly convicted.
Duly convicted requires honest government officers.
This does not require mass arrests. It only requires a 100-day advance notice of how Amendment 13 will be properly enforced and punished.
On day 101 the arrest of a dozen or so high-profile illegal immigration cases go to trial. For those convicted, all starting with their first offense (regardless of how many times they were caught and released before); if convicted by an impartial jury, they serve in public labor camps with hard labor. All of which is highly profiled in national and international. media.
No. To answer your question about the cost of our prisons and going up. No, it will actually cost taxpayers nothing, which is far less than we pay now. The inmates will grow all their own foods, products to make and make their own clothing, provide services to other government entities to help reduce their labor costs.
Yes, this will nearly eliminate the governments contracting with private business to do all this labor for profit, Governments are not supposed to be our nation;s largest employer. Especially at some of the wages and benefits packages paid to most government workers.
The signal goes out that Crime no longer pays in the uS of A.
