What is — clean Honest Government?

How to identify  — Clean Honest Government

  1. Does whomever or whatever is on the ballot — work to equally protect the rights of all citizens?
  2. May any citizen honorably exercise the proposed political power against another citizen  — without unjustly violating their rights?
  3. Did the candidate, sworn into office -- receive the consenting votes, at the very least, from the majority (50% + 1) of the total number of registered voters?
  4. Did whatever else (initiative, referendum, act, project, program, etc.) on the ballot  — pass with the same level of majority (50% + 1) of the total number of registered voter's consent?
  5. Does the body of registered voters know how to undo, repeal, replace, alter, amend, or throw off any corrupted action, decision, law, or government officials that violates their rights?

That is the picture of Clean Honest Government -- especially when referring to these united States of America and generally when referring to any other country.

I personally would like to take credit for that checklist. I cannot. It was written using a different string of words in the late 1700's. My contribution was simply to discover what their words meant to the most people of that generation and reword it to fit this generation's comprehension a bit closer.

Go to the Home Page of CleanHonestGov.com to see how many of the words we assume we properly comprehend from 1776 possess different meanings then compared to how we use those words today.

Last night, I met a man who was recently elected to his City Council. I told him I am still looking for an elected official, who did not receive the consenting votes from the majority of the total number of registered voters in their district; who is willing to risk their political career by demanding a new election until such time the majority of registered voters consent to the same candidate.

He told me he was willing to do that. Question is: If I never see him again -- Will he?

I suppose the only way I get to know that answer is if I begin hearing about it in the news.

Daniel,

It was a pleasure talking to you today. While I don't necessarily agree wholeheartedly with all your positions, it was certainly thought provoking. We all need to be better informed and educated citizens.

I also wanted to thank you for so generously sharing a little of your own personal story.

Good luck-and good weather!

Yes. Better informed and better educated. Unfortunately, we cannot rely on our school-system or government to help in either aspect. At least not yet.

Than you for stopping by to exchange thoughts.
